Waterproofing Primer/Sealer.

Health Warning Information

Health Effects

Swallowed: Ingestion could cause irrition and burning sensation.

Eye: Irritation and burning. Long term exposure can cause damage, possibly irreversible damage.


Skin: Irritation and burning sensation. Can cause dermatitis.

Inhaled: Irritation with asthma like symptoms. It is unlikely that the product would be inhaled due to its viscosity. Inhaled matter is likely to be Xylene.

CHRONIC HEALTH EFFECTS
Prolonged contact or continuous long term working in confined and poorly ventilated areas may cause irriation response, sore eyes, nose and possible headaches and dermatitis.
Observe good occupational work practices.


First Aid

Swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Give plenty of milk or water to drink. Seek medical assistance or contact the Poisons information Service (Australia 121126 and New Zealand 03 4747000).

Eye: Flush thoroughly with copious amounts of clean water. Seek medical attention.

Skin: Remove contaminated clothing, and wash with soap and water.

Inhaled: Product is Xylene based. Irritation with asthma like symptoms. It is unlikely the product would be inhaled due to its viscosity. Inhaled matter is likely to be Xylene.

Advice to Doctor

Treat symptomatically.

Precautions in Use

Product is Xylene based and flammable, it should be kept away from all ignition sources. Follow good industrial hygiene and chemical precautions, particularly in respect of flammability.
Use in ventilated areas and provide flameproof artifical ventilation if required to maintain concentrations below Xylene Exposure Standard of 350g/m3 (TWA) 655/m3(STEL) or 100ppm.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS
Use in well ventilated areas. If working in confined area, artifical breathing equipment should be used.

Product should be applied in areas with adequate ventilation.

Personal Protection

Gloves: Solvent resistant gloves are recommended.
Eyes: Safety goggles. The wearing of contact lenses poses an additional risk. Soft lenses may absorb irritants and all lenses concentrates them.
Feet: Wear safety footwear.
Skin: The wearing of coveralls is strongly recommended.

Safe Handling Information

Storage and Transport

Store in cool, dry area and place out of the reach of children. Product is flammable.
Suitable containers: Metal pails/drums,as recommended by manufacturer.
Check containers are labeled and not damaged. Dangerous Goods class III must be declared prior to transportation.

Spills and Disposal

Prevent spills from entering the drains or sewers. Absorb product with sand or earth or absorbant material and dispose to land fill as in accordance with local council regulations.
Major spills unlikely due to indivdual size of containers.

Fire / Explosion Hazard

Product is flammable and should be kept away from any sources of ignition and out of direct sunlight.
Container should be kept cool with water spray to prevent pressure build up. Burning product may produce dense irritating smoke. Heat may cause cans to rupture.
